Where have I been?!?

I've been MIA for over a month! Well, with the Baby Shower and moving, life has been extra hectic for us! We were without cable and internet for the last three weeks! Isn't it funny how we get used to all of that technology and then don't know how to live without it? So now we have our DVR back, and I can once again surf the net and show you my creations. Now, you would think that with all the time I've had--and the no cable and internet--that I would've made tons of projects...WRONG! I've been busy settling in and getting the nursery ready. Everything is as settled as it is going to get for now, so I'll have sometime this week to play with some projects. I've found lots of ideas for Christmas decor and gifts that I plan to share with you so stay tuned...!

Sad News

I had planned on sharing pics from a fun experience I shared with my sister last night. However, I learned today that JoAnne Hoffman, the wonderful lady that introduced me to Rubber Stamping and altering projects, had passed away. I was unaware that she had been ill and had last communicated with her around July. My heartfelt condolences go out to her family. JoAnne was a demonstrator for The Angel Company when I met her. My friend Cathy had invited me to one of JoAnne's monthly Stamping gatherings. I fell in love with the art then! JoAnne would always have great projects for us to do, as well as a nice snack (even wine sometimes!) She seemed to me to be like a Mama Bear to those girls that gathered there--listening to them and offering them her heart. She gave the best hugs! She will be missed.

8x8 Scrapbook Page

I found these Halloween borders at Walmart. Their Scrapbooking section has improved a LOT! They were under two dollars---a good deal for dimensional borders.

I was able to make this 8x8 scrapbook page very quickly. You can't tell from the picture, but the ghosts are the dimensional part and the text reads, "Are We Scary?" This pic is from Halloween '06. Pictured are: My niece (our family Princess,) My Corey (the SWAT guy,) and my nephew (my favorite superhero.) I just have to journal and find the right title for the page, but I wanted to show you what I've been working on. Hope you like it!

Halloween projects---FINALLY!

Forgive me for the delay in posting the promised project pics. It seemed that every time I planned on uploading, my internet connection would go OUT! Here are some of the projects I completed with the glittered die cuts.

These pails were super easy to make! I just used foam squares to mount the Glittered die cuts onto the pails. These cute pails are from the Target $1 Spot (2 for $1 for these.) I plan on filling them with candy--they're great for teacher or office gifts!

This card was also very easy to make! I used the glittered die cut, some Stampin' Up! cardstock, and rub ons from K & Co (purchased during the same sale at Michaels.)

This has got to be the fastest 12x12 scrapbook page I have ever made. All I have to do now is add this year's Halloween pics, journal a bit, and it's ready to go in my Halloween through the years Scrapbook!

Here they are-finally!

Forgive me for the delay in posting the promised projects. Homeschooling, shower invites, and pregnancy brain are all to blame!

It's Halloween Time

Last week I made a great buy at Michael's. They had these K & Co. Diecuts on sale at 30% off! There are over 200 pieces-big & small-half of them are glittered up. I paid less than $4 for them! They are great for cards, scrapbook pages, and altering items for home decor. Check out the projects I made! {Bear with me while I load them up...}

Baby Shower Invites

My wonderful sister is hosting a Baby Shower for me. However, she's not into papercrafting like me, so she offered to buy my invites online. I found some that I liked, but somehow, they just didn't feel quite right. I mean, I usually do handmade invites for everyone, and I didn't want MY invites to be store bought. Does that make sense? I wondered if it was tacky to make my own invites, and finally, I decided that I didn't care if it was tacky. So, I made my own Baby Shower invitations. Pictured are the supplies used, the invitation, and a close up of the invitation. They're simple, but I love them!

Creatively Me,

I finally figured out how to add pics...duh!

Thank you for your patience! I finally figured out how to get the pictures out of my camera, onto the computer, into a Blog pics folder, and finally---on to my Blog!
I promise to upload daily, and since its been almost a week--here are several projects I've completed...

The pail was very simple to alter. I bought some of these pails from the dollar spot at Target then used some Ribbon (from Michaels and my local SBS,) patterned paper from Stampin' Up's Cottage Rose Scrapbook kit, and finally, some stickers from Karen Foster that I popped with some foam squares.
