All done with my December Daily! From LAST year....

Can you believe it's December already? This has to have been the fastest a year ever went by. << Did that sentence even make sense? Ah, well you know what I mean.

If you are familiar with Ali Edwards, then you know all about December Daily. I first learned about December Daily last year from one of my Facebook groups. I 'googled' all I could about it and jumped full force onto the December Daily bandwagon. If you're not familiar with it, let me tell you a bit about it...
December Daily is all about creating an album and documenting all your December memories, traditions, activities, etc. The point of it all though, is to have your album all pre-made so that you will not not have to stress out over it during such a busy month. You just insert your pictures, do your journaling and voila! It's a great concept for the busy scrapbooker, and a really good way to keep track of all your December happenings.

For my first DD last year, I decided to make my own album instead of buying a pocketed style one like the traditional DD albums everyone was using. I found an old album I'd picked up at a yard sale, and got to decorating it 'my way.'. I was SOOOO excited about the whole thing, and I was sure I would keep up with it even though I'd decided not to do the pre-made pages. Boy was I wrong! Believe it or not, I am just finishing up my 2012 DD {but, if you are like my friend Michelle you'll totally believe it and even EXPECT that from me, lol}.

This year, I am definitely setting up my DD so that it will be easier to stay updated. Since I am also doing Project Life {more on that tomorrow}, I decided to use this year's DD strictly for December/Christmas traditional activities such as our Lego Advent calendar, Christmas crafts, etc. We are starting a few new traditions this December, and I wanted to make sure I document it all. I still plan on doing December in my Project Life album, but it will have the normal things in there like Lego Boy's birthday, date nights, game nights, etc. Here are a few pictures of my 2012 December Daily. Lego Boy hid my camera and I JUST found it this morning {whew!!!}. I don't know what is up with that boy, but he has been hiding things from us---my phone, books, THE CAMERA. Anyhow, I have yet to take pictures of ALL the pages of my DD, so I am only sharing my cover with you today.

What about you? Are you doing December Daily? How do you document your December?

Happily,
V~

My Name Is Virginia and I Am A Swap Addict...

Seriously, it seems like there isn't a swap theme I've refused lately...

I joined a  Project Life Card Swap on Facebook and I am hooked on making these cute little cards! On top of that, we also do swaps for my local Facebook group, the Scrappy Chicks.

I will admit that I was overwhelmed with my October swaps for the Project Life Card swap group last month, as I signed up for too many---NINE to be exact! And the month before I signed up for every theme in the ATC swap with the Scrappy Chicks. Whew! I have decided to limit myself to 4 or 5 themes for the time being, at least that is what I am telling myself, haha! The problem is that the ladies I swap with are ridiculously talented, and the swap themes are just too cute to pass up. So...I have to join all the swaps because if I don't, I'll be kicking myself for not participating once I see all their creations.

Here are a few of my swap creations from the last few months.

These the ATCs I made for the Scrappy Chicks Swap; the themes were: Hearts, Chevrons, Travel, Inspirational Quote, Monogram,  & Butterflies.

My first swaps for Project Life Card Swap FB Group! The themes were: Social Media, Tell Me About It, In the Kitchen & So Many Books.

^^^^I used my Silhouette Cameo A LOT for these swaps!  ^^^^

A few of my October PL Card Swaps, the themes were: Carry A Tune, Out to Eat, December Daily Envelopes & 2014 Calendar {I got August}.

^^^I used a mix of stamping, printing and use of the Cameo again for these. ^^^
The top right card is my version of a Kelly Purkey die cut I saw on  her              blog; I immediately went to order it, but it was sold out. I just HAD TO use it for my swap,
so I used my Cameo to make my own!

These were my November Swaps; I was good and only signed up for FOUR!!! The themes were: Shake, shake, shake!, Winter Wonderland Rolodex, I Mustache You A Question & Wood You Could You?

The awesome hostesses at Project Life Card Swap always package all the return swaps sooooo nicely. LOVED the extra tag they included.

Some of the swaps I got back...didn't I tell you these ladies were so talented??

More return swaps....

ATC swaps I received from one of the Scrappy Chicks, LOVED the Charlie Brown-ish one!

I hope you enjoyed seeing all  my swaps! If you are doing project life and are interested in the Project Life Card Swap group, be sure to check out their blog HERE  and if you are on Facebook, be sure to join the group there too {links to join are on the blog.} Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned for pics of my Project Life Spreads as well as some December Daily goodness!

WHERE have I been?

As you can see, I have neglected my blog for over a year--AGAIN! What can I say? Life happens. Last I posted I blamed the Mono, but this time around I have no one to blame but myself. I HAVE been crafting; I just haven't been good about blogging about it. My first love is writing, then crafting. It's the reason I decided to start blogging about my crafts, so I could get the writing juices flowing for my other work. Such has not been the case, as I have neglected my writing as well. However, that is all about to change as I have challenged myself to update my blogs on a daily basis {yes, I have more than one..sigh.} I may not always share or post pics of something I made, but I will always try to share something crafty with you. I may not have any readers left, so I am off to get some. In the meantime, here's  a quick crafty share---an ATC I did for one of my Facebook groups last month. More details and updates tomorrow! Until then....

Happy Crafting,
V~
